Barack Obama: 47 million dollars for offshore wind power

One of the first acts of the re-elected president of the United States regards wind energy: the Barack Obama administration, in fact, decided to allocate funding for 7 projects aimed to build offshore wind farms in four major areas of the country (Northwest, Midwest , Gulf of Mexico, East Coast).
Each project will be funded up to $ 4 million and 3 out of 7 may receive up to $ 47 million. What explains how important this decision is in the direction of a wind energy development is that the United States, regarding the last four years, have more than doubled this kind of energy production, reaching in summer 2012 50 GW of electricity generation and employing more than 75,000 people (here the original article ).
